apples + oranges... and a cider recipe!

Updated: Oct 26, 2018

An absolutely FANTASTIC apple cider recipe that I get asked about every year..

First, make sure you click here and grab you one of these cuties! The "Fall is my Favorite" mugs are only in stock through 11/15!

apples + oranges + spices

Don't hate me, but I don't ever measure the fruit.. I just get enough to fill half of whatever pot I'm using, so you can make however much suits your fancy! I usually make a stock pot full, so we can share with neighbors. Okay, so, now to the good part!

Quarter the apples and slice the oranges in big chunks, and add them to the pot. Add all of the spices and then fill with water. I usually let it come to a rolling boil for about 3-5 minutes and then just let it simmer for a while! If we're having it that afternoon, I'll put it on in the morning and just let it simmer all day. It smells so good and is so simple!

Honeycrisp apples are a MUST. There's zero added sugar because these are perfect!

For my stock pot, usually 10-12.

Oranges. I usually do 2-3 oranges for the big pot, so that will give you an idea.

Cinnamon sticks - 3-4 of the long ones

Clove 1 T

Nutmeg 1 whole

AllSpice 1 T

Water

If you want to share with friends and family, you can usually find super cute glass jars in the Target Dollar Spot! They had some last year that was the style of a growler and had a few different sayings on them and if I'm remembering correctly, they were only $3. Pair it with a few little apple muffins or some cute paper straws and you're in business! Enjoy!
